I want to take you on my journey of my 3 day juice detox. Let's think veggies and more green veggies and let's go!
Let me start my clearing up a few things. Juicing is Great and fabulous but I wish they would have called it greening instead if juicing. The purpose is to get all out greens and veggies in and add in a piece of fruit to make it taste yummy yummy. When your just juicing fruit it is very high in sugar. Yes, it is a better sugar but in the end it's still sugar. Still can give you headaches and for some they experience that high of sugar and then drop down and feel that low. Again remember if you want to look like a beauty queen then you better choose your greens.
They are different ways to juice and people will debate but I'm not here to fight for what I think is right... I'm here to deliver the message and facts and have you decide.
Juicing in blender- taking all your ingredients and blending them up where the fibers are still in the blender and drinking it that way. It's still a great way to to start getting your greens in or adding greens to your smoothies.
Juicing in a juicing machine where the fibers are extracting and discarded and you are left with just juice.
You say what's the difference? I feel a lot! If you are doing a detox for a couple of days or longer, I feel it's so imperative to juice and discard the fibers. Juicing can do wonderful things and if you just juice it in the machine then your body doesn't have to worry about digesting everything because the fibers are removed. It goes directly into your system and it works it's magic. It gives your gut and your digestion process a rest too.
When I juice I want it to be just pure juice no fiber contents because I want to get in me and do it's magic. Let me tell you about my fabulous magic recipe.
I decided on a detox recipe because I am doing this to bleed the sugars out of my body from the holidays. I feel my body craving sugars and I don't like that so it's time for a reset. I will do this for 3 days and just drinking liquid juice. No solids and I can juice as much as my heart desires. Since I'm not a beginner juicer, there's barely no fruit in mine. Remember if you want to be a beauty queen then choose your greens. That's what I'm about here. Really, it's all about living life the healthy way and not abusing your bodies. I can tell you so many sad stories of women harming their bodies to try to loose weight. It's hurts my heart. If you want to drop 7-12 lbs. a juice detox will do that for ya because your body doesn't have to digest because there is no fibers. I'm still getting my 1,200 calories in. Crazy right.
My greens for Queens recipe
4-5 leaves of Kale preferably (Lacinato) doesn't that sound fancy
A handful of parsley
1 Green Apple
1 Lemon
1 Lime
1 inch of Ginger cut
1 stalk of celery
There ya go and juice. It will be very tart and again I don't put my health coaching clients on this to start. I do a 5 day detox with salad and juice for first time goers.
Lastly, a lot of people think carrot is a great veggies to always toss in as there go to in juicing. It is actually not. When you juice carrots it becomes high in glycemic index (very sugary). Did you know if you just eat it normally and not juice it, it does not turn into sugar when we digest it. My base is always celery. If you had a rough night out and had too much to drink or if you're sick or if you're just detoxing, celery is the number one go too that should be your foundation when you're juicing. It has amazing benefits for our body!
