So I totally love to make my own body lotions and oils. It's a super easy, funtastic (made this super fab word up), and you know what's going on your skin.
I love that dewy look on the skin that body oils give and oils actually penetrate rather then lotions only penetrate 25-35 percent.
Let's chat about oils. There are essential oils which are pure oils that can't be placed directly on the skin and aroma oils aka beauty oils and they can be put on the skin. If you choose to pick an essential oil (which is the purest oil) then it must be cut with something before being placed on the Skin. You can mix them with sunflower seed oil or EVOO. Rachel Ray would say that. Hehe. Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I try when I can to order pure oils and I like Young Living for my pure oils because you can diffuse them, use them in cooking, take them orally, or make fun beauty thing-a-ma-.gigga's with.
Directions
Step 1: Make sure the glass bottles are clean and that all lids fit securely. Dry the glasses completely by placing them upside in the dishwasher or counter top with a towel underneath.
Step 2: Fill the glass bottle 3/4 of the way from the top with the preferred oils. You can use EVOO but my all time fav is Sunflower seed oil. This will prevent the oils from spilling out once you put the pump inside.
Another total plus is this is totally free of dyes, fragrances, preservatives, an alcohol.
Step 3: Add 5-10 drops of essential or fragrance oil. Allow the drops to penetrate the oil. Let rest for 10 minutes.
Step 4: Put the pump dispenser inside the bottle and shake to evenly distribute. Pump a small amount of the oil in your hand. From the point you can add more oils for a stronger scent if you prefer. You could also put it into a spray bottle, what ever floats your boat.
Step 5: Enjoy your new oil body moisturizer!
Hope you liked how to look dewy and sexy and smell fly with your home made fabulous body oil.
